Our office is open from 9a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday to Friday. Tutoring takes place before school from 7a.m. and after school from 3 pm, Monday to Thursday, during the school terms. However there is scope for lessons within school hours if required.

We offer a private (one tutor to one student) or shared lesson (one tutor to two students), and in both situations, each student is on their own individual program.

Our tutors are qualified, experienced teachers who are chosen for their passion, their expertise and their caring friendly personalities.

We draw from a combination of many resources to create a specific program which is shaped by your requirements and desired outcomes and your child’s learning style and personality. We like to say, ‘we teach them what they need when they need it.’ Any changes required by our students are easily integrated due to the flexibility of our programming.

Newport Education Centre is not just a tutoring service. We treat each child as a unique personality with unique needs. Our holistic approach accommodates every learning style because every student has their own individual program. We communicate with schools, teachers and other professionals, at parents’ request, so that we can cater specifically, relevantly and individually for every student. Through personal mentoring and guidance to help our students to become more organised and prepared, we support them and care for them on their challenging school journey.

Yes. We have many years of experience working with a vast range of young people with a variety of learning disabilities and ability levels. We understand that no two students are alike.

We are always prepared with a relevant and continuous program, but we are also able to work with our students on whatever they need help with from school. When they do, they should bring their school books, task notifications, textbooks, literary texts, drafts and computer (if relevant), but not stationery – we have that here.

As each student is on an individual program, homework is also an individual option. We can adjust expectations to suit your child’s needs.

We bill by term, but parents are given a choice to pay by transfer or weekly by cash.

If 24 hours’ notice is given, we will make up the lesson in the same term. (No lessons are carried over to the next term.)

We value all feedback and are contactable throughout the day to discuss any issues with parents. We can adjust our strategies and programs to meet your child’s needs. Parents may email us anytime or call us between 9a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday to Friday.

We provide a written report every term on each student’s progress detailing what has been covered that term, as well as what areas require further development. If we believe your child no longer needs tutoring support, we will let you know.

Private one hour ‘Study Skills’ sessions can be booked for students, their siblings and parents. These sessions are aimed at equipping students with individual, practical plans and easy-to-use strategies, ideas and skills to develop effective revision and study practices.

Yes, we do, and have done so for over 20 years. Many of our students have gained positions in each of these programs.
